Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium bowl, combine the diced mango, soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to create the marinade.
- Step 2: Add the sliced chicken breasts to the marinade and toss until all pieces are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Step 3: Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
- Step 4: Place the chicken slices on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and caramelized.
- Step 5: Once cooked, take the chicken off the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into strips. Serve warm as twists with additional mango glaze drizzled on top if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
- For optimal freshness, store any leftover chicken twists in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- When reheating, warm the chicken twists gently in a skillet over low heat to maintain their tenderness and avoid drying them out, adding a splash of water or extra glaze if needed.
- Serve your mango glazed chicken twists with a side of jasmine rice or a fresh green salad to balance the flavors and add a refreshing crunch.
- For an extra burst of flavor, consider marinating the chicken overnight; this allows the spices and mango to deeply infuse into the meat for an irresistible taste.
