Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with cooking spray or a bit of butter to prevent sticking.
- Step 2: In a small mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and melted butter. Stir until well mixed.
- Step 3: Place the halved pears in the prepared baking dish, cut side up. Drizzle the maple syrup mixture evenly over the pears.
- Step 4: If using, sprinkle the chopped walnuts and raisins or dried cranberries over the top of the pears for added texture and flavor.
- Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and caramelized. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top.
Notes
- For storage, keep any leftover baked pears in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days to maintain their flavor and texture.
- When reheating, warm the pears gently in the microwave for about 30 seconds or place them in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes to regain their delicious softness.
- Serve your Maple Syrup Cinnamon Baked Pears with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for a delightful contrast of temperatures and flavors.
- For an extra burst of flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the maple syrup mixture; it beautifully complements the sweetness of the pears!
