Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup quinoa, rinsed
- 2 cups almond milk (or any milk of choice)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or honey)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional toppings: sliced almonds, chia seeds, or additional berries
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed quinoa, almond milk, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Step 2: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the quinoa is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
- Step 3: While the quinoa is cooking, place the sliced strawberries in a small bowl and mash them slightly with a fork to release their juices. You can add a little bit of maple syrup if you like it sweeter.
- Step 4: Once the quinoa is cooked, remove it from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and stir in the mashed strawberries along with the vanilla bean paste.
- Step 5: Serve warm in bowls, drizzling with extra maple syrup if desired, and top with optional toppings like sliced almonds, chia seeds, or more fresh berries. Enjoy your delicious Strawberry Infused Quinoa Breakfast Cereal!
Notes
- For optimal freshness, store any leftover Strawberry Infused Quinoa Breakfast Cereal in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- When reheating, add a splash of almond milk to the quinoa mixture to restore its creamy texture and heat it gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
- For a delightful serving suggestion, top your cereal with a sprinkle of sliced almonds and a handful of fresh berries for added crunch and flavor.
- To enhance the strawberry flavor, consider using a bit of strawberry puree instead of mashing the strawberries, giving your breakfast an extra burst of sweetness and color!
